This eMinds CA teaches us how to create and share invitation links to add friends to a chat channel on a discord server using Android. You must have administrator’s permission on the server to invite new users to chat.
Open the Discord app on your Android. The discoord icon looks like a white game controller in a blue circle in your app list.
Tap on the icon of three horizontal lines. It’s in the upper-left corner of your screen. This button will open a list of all your servers and chat on the left side of your screen.
Tap on a server icon. Select a server from the list of all servers on the left side of your screen. This will open a list of all text and voice channels on this server.
Tap Create an instant invitation. This option is located below the server name at the top of your screen. This will open a new page to create your invitation.
Tap the channel under “Quick Invitations.” This button will allow you to select a chat channel for your invitation on this server. You can invite #general chats on the same server or users on any other channel.
Choose an end date for your invitation after “After the Expiration.” You can set your invitation link to end in 30 minutes, 6 hours, or 1 day.
If you never choose to, your invitation link will never end. This means that you can use this link any time to invite and add users to your channel in the future.
Under “Maximize”, select the maximum number of invitations for your invitation. You can choose to set your invitation to end after 1 use, 10 usage, or 100 usage. Your invitation link will not work after being used for a fixed number of maximum uses.
Slide the floating subscription switch for the image with the heading position. When a temporary membership is set on the on-position for an invitation, the invited user will automatically kicking with the chat when disconnected.
Tap on your invite link. It is located at the top of your screen. Tapping will copy the invite link on your clipboard. If you want to invite your deterring friends to your channel, you can paste it directly into the message.
Tap the share button next to the invite link. It looks like three dots connected to two lines in the top-right corner of your screen. This will bring a pop-up menu to select the app to share your invitation.
Select an app from the pop-up menu. You can share your invitation link on messages and social media apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger and Signal. This will open your selected app and bring a list of your contacts.
Select a friend to invite. Scroll down your contact list and tap on the friend you want to invite to your deserved chat channel.
If your contact does not have a discharged account, they must sign up for an account before joining your channel.
Send your invitation. Tap the Send button in the app you are using. Once your friend receives the link and clicks, they will be able to join your resident chat channel.
