This eMinds CA teaches you how to add a bot to the list of members of a disk server, assign a specific role to it and optimize its channel permissions using the iPhone or iPad.
Installing a Bot
Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad. Find and tap the Safari icon on your Home screen, or open another mobile internet browser.
Visit the Unofficial Discord Bots website. Type bots.discord.pw in your browser’s address bar, and hit the Go button.
You can also see other websites such as carbonate or bot list for more bot options.
Tap the View button next to the bot. Find an interesting bot in the list, and tap this button to see its details.
Tap the Invite button. This will inspire you to sign in to your Discord account on a new page.
Sign in to your Discord account. Enter your email and password, and tap on the blue login button.
Select a server to add the bot. Tap Select a server drop-down, and select a server for the new bot.
Tap the Authorize button. This will authorize your action, and add the bot to the selected server.
Assigning a Role to a Bot
Open discord on your iPhone or iPad. The Discord app looks like a white gamepad icon in the blue square.
Tap the ☰ icon. This button is in the upper-left corner of your screen. It will open your navigation panel on the left.
Tap the server with the bot. Locate the server on the left side of your screen, and tap on its icon.
Tap the name of the server at the top. It is located at the top of the list of channels. Your options will pop up.
Tap the server settings on the pop-up menu. This will open the server settings menu on a new page.
Scroll down and USER manages to tap members. This will open a list of all users on this server.
Tap the Bot in the member list. This will open the member edit page.
Tap Edit Rolls under Rolls. This will open a list of all available roles, which you can assign to the bot.
If you do not have a role for the bot, you can create a new role on the Rolls menu. You can find roles under USER management on the server settings page.
Select the role that you want to assign to the bot. You can come back here and change the role anytime.
Tap Save. This button is in the upper-right corner of your screen. This will save the new role of the bot.
Adding a Bot to a Channel
Open your server’s channel list. All text and voice channels are listed under the server name on your navigation panel.
Tap on the channel that you want to add a bot. Find the channel in the channel list, and open it.
Tap the channel name at the top of the chat. This channel will open the Settings page.
Tap Permissions at the bottom. This will open the Channel Permissions page.
Tap the + Add role option. This will open a list of all the roles on your server.
Select the role of the bot in the list. This will open channel permissions for the selected role.
Customize the bot’s channel permissions. Scroll down the list of permissions, and change permissions options depending on your bot requirement.
To allow bots, tap the green checkmark icon next to an option, or the red “X” icon to cancel it.
Tap on top-right. This will save the channel’s permissions to the bot, and add it to the chat.
