Method 1 Sending Money with PayPal

1. Determine whether PayPal meets your requirements. PayPal is one of the most established online payment platforms, with connections to a wide range of online merchants. It can be used to send money to friends and family, as well as businesses and online merchants.

You can use your bank accounts or PayPal balances for free, or you can use your PayPal Credit (for a 2.9 percent +.30 fee).

PayPal also has a mobile app that can be used to send and receive money.

To receive funds, payment recipients must have a PayPal account or create one.

2. Register for PayPal online. To begin, go to the PayPal website and click the “Sign up” button. Enter your email address and password, followed by your full legal name and address.

Read the User Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Electronic Communications Delivery Policy before proceeding.

You can also create an account by downloading the mobile app.

3. Register a bank account or credit card to confirm your identity. PayPal may take several days to confirm this information.

They will deposit two small payments into your bank account and then withdraw them via EFT.

Plan ahead of time because this confirmation process could take up to three days.

4. Use your PayPal account to send money. Go to your PayPal account and sign in. At the top right of your account summary page, click the “Pay or send money” button.

5. Click the “Send Money to Friends or Family” button. If you use your PayPal balance or bank account, this option is free. Paying for “Goods or services” is free for you, but the recipient will be charged 2.9 percent +.30.

The majority of personal transactions will be with friends or family.

If you are paying for services, be aware of the recipient’s potential tax liability.

6. Enter the email address, phone number, or name of your recipient. If you’ve previously sent money to this person, simply type his or her name and choose them from the list.

7. Enter the amount you want to send. Click “Continue” to add a note about the transaction’s purpose. The note is optional, but it will help you keep accurate expense records.

8. Choose your payment method. You’ll see one of your accounts listed beneath “You’re sending with.” You can change the account name by clicking it, but make sure you have enough funds to make the payment.

It is free to use your PayPal balance or linked bank accounts.

PayPal credit incurs a small fee of 2.9 percent +.30.

9. Click the “Send Money Now” button. Depending on the contact information you entered, the recipient will receive a notification via text message or email. They must either accept or reject the payment.

If a payment is not claimed or accepted within 30 days, it is automatically cancelled.

If you make a mistake, you can still cancel “unclaimed” payments. If the money has already been picked up by the recipient, you must contact him or her directly to request a refund.

Method 2 Sending Money with SquareCash

1. Determine whether SquareCash meets your transaction requirements. SquareCash is linked to the Square credit card reader, but you don’t need it to use the programme. To receive funds, your recipient does not need to create a SquareCash account, but they must link a debit card.

You are permitted to use your bank accounts and debit cards, but not your credit cards or special credit accounts.

Users must download the mobile application before sending money, though the web site can still be used.

For personal accounts, SquareCash has a weekly sending limit of $250 and a weekly receiving limit of $1000. Sending or receiving more than those limits will result in an authentication request for your name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

By verifying this information, you will be able to increase your sending limit to $2,500. (in most states).

2. Register for SquareCash online. Signing up is simple, requiring only your email address or phone number and a security code verification.

You can sign up on the website right away, or you can download and use the mobile app.

You can wait until you’ve finished the account creation process before entering your bank account or debit card information.

3. Check the status of your account. SquareCash will send a code to your phone to protect your information. You should also read up on SquareCash’s security and privacy policies.

Because you’re dealing with your personal financial information, make sure you read these policies thoroughly.

Bookmark or download the security and privacy policies for future reference if problems with your information arise.

5. Fill in the blanks with your bank account information. SquareCash only accepts payments from standard, US-issued bank accounts, such as Visa, MasterCard, and Discover debit cards. Credit cards, ATM cards, PayPal, and prepaid bank cards are not accepted.

If you’re not ready or don’t have it handy, you can skip this step for now.

This information is secure: your account information will never be seen by your recipients.

6. Send an email to the email address of your payment recipient. Even if your recipient does not have a SquareCash account, using your email account to send money can save you time and help you keep clear records or payments.

In the Cc: field, enter the email address [email protected]

Fill in the dollar amount in the subject line of the email.

You can include a note as proof of payment for both yourself and the recipient.

To complete the payment, confirm your CVV on your debit card.

When the payment is complete, you will be notified by email or text.

The To: field can be filled with any number of people.

Users with linked cards will typically see an immediate deposit, but it may take up to 1-2 business days for the funds to appear in the recipient’s bank account.

8. Examine your transaction receipt for any errors. We all make mistakes, whether it’s incorrectly typing your friend’s name or sending too much or too little money, so it’s critical to double-check your information.

If the recipient has not claimed the payment, you may still be able to cancel or retract the transaction. Simply unsubscribe from the final confirmation email and cancel the payment.

If the recipient has already claimed the funds, you can only request that the money be returned to you.

Method 5 Sending Money with MoneyGram

1. Determine whether MoneyGram meets your requirements. MoneyGram does not require you or your recipient to open an account, but transfers in the United States must be picked up in cash at a MoneyGram location.

Direct deposit to bank accounts or debit cards is accepted in many other countries.

You can fund your payment with either your bank account or a credit card, though each option has its own set of fees.

2. Inquire with your payment recipient about where they will pick up their funds. Because MoneyGram can only send cash to physical locations, use the website’s locations page to find the most convenient location for your friend or family member.

In the Locations Page search box, enter your address, city, or zip code.

Choose a store that is both conveniently located and has hours that work for your recipient.

3. For sending money, look into MoneyGram’s rates. On the main page, click the “Estimate Rates” link and enter the amount of money you’re sending. This will assist you in determining how much you will be charged to send the funds. To determine the rate you’ll pay, first enter the amount you’re sending, then select your payment source.

If you’re sending money overseas, keep an eye on exchange rates.

Keep in mind that if you use your credit card to send money, you may be charged a cash advance fee.

4. Use the MoneyGram home page’s form to send money. Enter your recipient’s first and last name, as well as their country of residence. If you’re sending money to someone in the United States, you’ll also need to know where they live. Click the “Start Sending Money Now” button.

You have the option of creating an account, logging in, or sending as a guest.

Follow the steps as they appear when sending money internationally.

5. Select a payment delivery method. The “Cash” option is already selected in the United States. International payments will be able to choose from a variety of payment options, depending on the types of delivery permitted.

6. Fill in the payment amount. The exchange rate will be calculated automatically for you, so you’ll know exactly how much your recipient will receive if you’re sending internationally. Make certain that the total amount does not exceed the limit of your bank account or credit card.

7. Keep an eye out for a confirmation email. Paying close attention to the details on this receipt, such as the amount of money sent, payment fees, and recipient information, will assist you in managing your accounts.

8. Examine the confirmation for any errors. As long as the money has not been picked up, you can still cancel the transaction. To submit a MoneyGram transaction, you must first go to the MoneyGram website.

If you have a MoneyGram account, log in and look in your Transaction History for the transaction details. You will be given the option to cancel.

If you don’t have an account, you can use the “Track a Transfer” tool to locate the payment and cancel it on the “Transaction Details” page.
