How to Add a Swipe Up Link on Instagram

It is explained in this ementes how to include a “swipe up” link in your Instagram Story. If your Story contains a swipe up link, your followers can easily visit your website by simply swiping up on your Story. A verified (blue checkmark) profile is required for adding a swipe up link, and if you don’t have one, you’ll need a business profile with at least 10,000 followers in order to do so. However, even if you don’t have enough followers, you can still include a swipe up link by employing a simple IGTV workaround!

Method 1 Business Accounts with 10,000 or More Followers

1. Open Instagram on your phone or tablet.

2. Swipe left on your news feed to dismiss it. This will take you to the camera screen, where you can start a new Story from the beginning.

3. Create a narrative for your storey. For your swipe-up link, you can use any of Instagram’s story-creation tools to create the perfect storey for your audience. Then, take a photo or video (or upload one from your phone or tablet) to include in your Story by following the steps above.

Open your camera roll by tapping on the gallery icon in the bottom-left corner of your phone or tablet. This will take you to a photo or video that has been saved to your device.

Create Mode is activated by tapping the letter Aa in the upper-left corner of the screen. This mode opens a scrollable carousel of fun features for your storey, such as templates, quizzes, and polls.

4. Select the link icon from the drop-down menu. It’s near the sticker icon at the top of your new Story, near the beginning.

It is possible that you do not have a Business account or that your account has not been verified if you do not see this icon.

5. To add a web link, press + Web Link. You can type or paste the URL that your viewers will be directed to when they swipe up on the screen in this section of the settings menu.

Selecting the +IGTV Video option instead of the +IGTV Video option, tapping the video, and selecting Done will allow you to link to an IGTV video you’ve already uploaded.

6. Type or paste the link. This is where viewers will go when they swipe up on your Story.

7. Tap Done to continue.

8. Incorporate text or a sticker that instructs viewers to swipe up. Despite the fact that there will be a “Swipe Up” notice at the bottom, it can be difficult to notice. In order to increase the likelihood of receiving a visit to your website, you should draw more attention to the fact that viewers should swipe up.

Swipe Up GIFs can be added by tapping the sticker icon at the top of the screen, typing “Swipe up” into the search bar, and selecting a sticker from the list. It can be placed anywhere on the Story, preferably in a prominent location.

If you don’t want to use a GIF, you can open the text tool by tapping the Aa icon at the top-right of the screen and typing “Swipe Up.”

9. To upload your Story, select Your Story from the drop-down menu. When people view your Story, they’ll now have the option to swipe up to the next page. When they swipe up, they’ll be taken to your website or IGTV video in its entirety.

Method 2 Business Accounts with Less Than 10,000 Followers

1. You must create a video that is at least one minute in length. Making your swipe up link go to an IGTV video, in which you can place the URL into the video’s description is the only way to get around the 10,000-follower limit. Even though it isn’t the most professional-looking workaround, it will suffice while you wait for your follower count to increase.

The procedure will be as follows: After viewing your Story, the viewer will be given the option to swipe up or down. This will begin playing your minute-long IGTV video or more. To open your website, you’ll explain to the viewer in your IGTV video that he or she should tap the title at the top of the screen, followed by the link to access it.

Using the regular camera app on your phone or tablet (not Instagram’s camera) and recording for at least one minute will allow you to create your video.

In the video, tell viewers to tap on the title at the top of the screen to go to your website, and then tap on the link to go to your website directly.

After at least 60 seconds of recording, you can pause the recording.

2. Open Instagram and navigate to the profile of your company. You can access your profile by selecting it from the drop-down menu in the bottom-right corner of the screen. It is critical that you begin with your profile information.

3. Select IGTV Video from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen. You must open this option from your profile, not from your feed; if you do not open it from your profile, the camera and camera roll will be opened instead.

4. Select Next after you’ve tapped the video you’ve created. Videos that are less than one minute in length will be greyed out, and videos that are more than one minute in length will be highlighted.

5. Select a cover and then press the Next button. This is optional because one has already been selected for you. You are more than welcome to select something else if you so desire.

6. Fill out the title and link fields. Even if it’s just something simple like “TAP HERE,” the title should entice the viewer to click on the link and complete the action. Enter the URL that you want people to visit after clicking on your link in the Description field of the link creator tool. You can either type it out (for example, https://www.emindsca.com) or copy and paste it into your browser.

7. Tap Post. It’s at the top-right corner. Your video is now on IGTV.

8. Open your IGTV video in a new tab. To do so, go to your profile’s TV tab and select the video that appears at the top of the list. You’ll notice that the website address appears when you tap the link at the top of the page. To go directly to your website, tap the website link. Now all that’s left is to add it to your Story by clicking on the swipe up link!

9. Select Add video to your storey from the sharing menu by tapping the sharing icon. To share this video, click on the paper aeroplane icon at the bottom of the video. As a result, a new Story will be created that contains a smaller, truncated version of your IGTV video.

10. Select the link icon from the drop-down menu. It’s near the sticker icon at the top of your new Story, near the beginning.

It is possible that you do not have a Business account or that your account has not been verified if you do not see this icon.

11. Tap + IGTV Video. This expands your most recent IGTV videos.

12. Choose your new IGTV video and press the Done button. As a result, when you swipe up on the Story, you will be taken to the IGTV video. However, because it won’t be immediately obvious, you’ll want to include a swipe up sticker or text before sharing it with others.

13. Incorporate text or a sticker that instructs viewers to swipe up. The fact that there will be a “Watch Video” link with an up-arrow at the bottom of the page does not guarantee that everyone will notice it. In order to increase the likelihood of receiving a visit to your website, you should draw more attention to the fact that viewers should swipe up.

If you want to include a swipe up GIF in your post, tap the sticker icon at the top of the screen, type “Swipe up” into the search bar, and then select a sticker from the list. It can be placed anywhere on the Story, preferably in a prominent location.

If you don’t want to use a GIF, you can open the text tool by tapping the Aa icon at the top-right of the screen and typing “Swipe Up.”

14. To upload your Story, select Your Story from the drop-down menu. When people view your Story, they’ll now have the option to swipe up on your storey, which is a nice touch. When they swipe up, they’ll be taken directly to your IGTV video, which will instruct them on how to tap the link to open your website when they swipe up.
