How to Open Cur Files

CUR files, which are similar to.ico file types, are file formats for static Windows cursors that are stored in a static location. You can open CUR files if you have software like ACDSee, Axialis CursorWorkshop, or the free software Inkscape on your computer, which is explained in this emindsca.

Steps

1. Open the File Explorer Image titled File Explorer Icon.png (File Explorer Icon). This icon can be found in your taskbar or in the Start menu of your computer.

If you don’t already have one of these programmes, you can get a free trial of CursorWorkshop or a free copy of Inkscape by clicking on the links below. Inkscape is recommended due to the fact that it is free and simple to use.

Once you have one of those programmes installed, you can move on to the next step in the procedure.

2. Navigate to the CUR file that you created. Because CUR file types are used to store cursor images for the Windows operating system, you’ll find this file in the “System Root” folder in File Explorer.

3. Double-click the file to open it. If you have ACDSee, Axialis CursorWorkshop, or Inkscape installed on your computer, it will open in one of those programmes.

You can also open your programme (such as Inkscape), then select File > Open from the menu bar.
